7 Internet Marketing Tactics I Learned From TV Infomercials
It’s early morning at 2 am and I can’t sleep because I am overtired from working so I grab my TV remote control and turn on the television to channel 5 where the are on. You know the ones you see all the time like the NuWave Oven, bought that one too and it works okay, MagicBullet which chops up food and makes smoothies, I like that one as well for when I cook and Wen, that one infomercial with the natural shampoo that helps heal hair breakage and makes it soft and manageable. I ordered a lot from TV infomercials but my mother is very addicted she has everything from HSN to QVC that has Wolf Gang Puck logo on it. Most of my killer marketing strategies come from unknown resources of inspiration and this is one of them that I am going to share with you 7 internet marketing tactics that you should be applying in your network marketing business.
7 Internet Marketing Tactics:
1. Infomercials Grab Attention
Infomercials broadcast on television and at a scheduled time that you can’t sleep you are just seconds away from clicking the remote to find them on the air to grab your attention. To apply these internet marketing tactics you need to stop sugar coating and be clear how your products and services will give your prospect a better quality of life.
2. Infomercials Have Testimonials
Today’s infomercials show a lot of people giving their real life testimonials and this is a great way to gain instant credibility that the product or service is working. A great example is for one of those weight loss products. I remember years ago they just showed the super-ripped girl drinking a shake and looking in the mirror wearing her 4 sizes over jeans. Now you see more weight loss infomercials having dozens of before and after testimonials from real-life customers with beer bellies and jelly rolls who bought and tried the product with success. To apply these internet marketing tactics make sure you collect real testimonials from your customers and get their permission to post on your blog or websites.
3. Infomercials Have Personalities
Ever notice how the most successful infomercials on television hire and use celebrities like Joan Rivers, Alyssa Milano, and Cindy Crawford to sell these products. They know this gets people’s attention more than practically anything out there. Remember when Pro Activ Acne Treatment came out and had Jessica Simpson showing her before and after stage photos. Now I see Justin Bieber because he is the hottest trending celeb everyone is following. To apply these internet marketing tactics you can be your own star celeb and share your stories by being personal and have fun doing it on video.
4. Infomercials Have Irresistible Offers You Can’t Refuse
Rarely will you see customers who shop from TV pay in full that is why this marketing strategy or the “Irresistible Offer You Just Can’t Refuse” works! You’ll mostly see things like “3 payments of $14.95″ or “4 payments of $29.95″. What is the reason they do this? People who are trying to save money are always more concerned about cash flow than the total price. Customers are more reluctant to pay much MORE in the end in order to gain a lower monthly payment just so they can try the product or service.
To apply these internet marketing tactics you can do it similar by offering a payment plan you’re your products, courses, workshops, and coaching. I like using PayPal for this internet marketing tactic because I can customize the button to show my payment play for weekly or pay in full for the month.
5. Infomercials Have Strong Call-To-Action by using the word “NOW”
Infomercials know that once you change the channel you’re not going to remember their product so what they do is give you a sense of urgency to buy now. They usually say something like “If you call in the next 10 minutes you also get…” and they list a few great bonuses.
To apply these internet marketing tactics I suggest everyone need to give people a good enough reason to buy now, whether it’s a discount that expires in 72 hours, a limited number of products or seats for a webinar, a special bonus… you get the picture.
6. Infomercials Have Powerful Continuity
The definition of continuity is: The unbroken and consistent existence or operation of something over a period of time. In other words when you make one sale that results in multiple charges over and over. For example, my girlfriends can rave about how good the Wen Hair Products are, I end up ordering a Wen set from their infomercial. When this happens, every 2 months, I receive a fresh supply in the mail, and my credit card is charged again like and auto ship. I love it because I don’t have to remember to reorder. This is powerful marketing at best because now I am their customer for life or until I want to cancel my auto ship.
By applying these internet marketing tactics your continuity will change your life as a network marketer. Instead of having a one-shot webinar, create an ongoing monthly training system of your own?
7. Infomercials Have To Repeat Themselves Over and Over
Eben Pagan says that it takes an average of 7 TIMES for someone to see or hear your message before they will even consider buying! That goes for you too. Many of my coaching clients complain that advertising and marketing their business online doesn’t work when they only ran one ad one time. Understand this; it’s the ongoing consistent exposure and repetition that breeds familiarity and trust with your prospects which will lead to more sales!
To apply these internet marketing tactics be sure to be patient and just stay consistent with you marketing it will pay off I promise. Urge your prospects.
